What was once known as the Tamavua Primary School will now be called the Jagindra Singh Primary School.
This, after the Tamavua Education Society recognised the school’s administrator Jagindra Singh for his loyal and dedicated service with the community and the school and named the school after him.
Tamavua Education Society president Professor Biman Prasad said the occasion was fitting for Mr Singh as he was one of the many individuals who had provided education to children in Fiji for over 100 years.
“This is apart from the honesty and the commitment that he shows in every way that he deals with people,” he said.
The school now has 1036 primary school students, 115 kindergarten students and 38 staff members.
