Saraswati College had its school inter-house for the first time in three years at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva yesterday.

The school had a combined competition with Dilkusha Methodist High School which aimed at boosting competitiveness and yielding better results.

Saraswati College principal Pranesh Kumar said their aim was to elevate their performance both in academic results and sports.

“We have almost 300 athletes across our four houses participating in the inter-house. This is one of the preliminary sessions where our elite athletes will be assessed and chosen for the Triple N Zone,” he said.

“We are looking to take 150 plus athletes to the zone, we have that number every year so we should maintain that. We will be taking part in all events come the zone.

“Our school theme is year of elevation, and we want to move up, raise the ladder from where we left off last year. We want to win gold medals come the Coke Games.”

He added their best athletes were in the junior and sub-junior grades.

In the 2023 Fiji Finals, the school won a bronze medal in the boys’ category.

Meanwhile, the Triple N Zone will be held at the HFC Bank Stadium on March 27-28.

The Fiji Finals will be held at the same venue on May 2-4.
