A school bus became stranded in fast-flowing floodwaters in Vatiyaka, Ba, this afternoon following torrential rain, prompting an urgent rescue effort by residents and police.
Witnesses said water levels rose rapidly, trapping the bus as it attempted to pass through the flooded area.
With conditions worsening, nearby residents moved quickly to help, climbing through the bus windows to safely evacuate the children.
Police officers who were in the area also responded, assisting with the evacuation and securing the scene to prevent further risk to motorists and pedestrians.
No injuries have been reported, and all children were safely removed from the bus.
Authorities are urging motorists and parents to exercise caution during heavy rain and to avoid flooded roads, as water levels can rise suddenly and create dangerous conditions.
