THE Sugar Cane Growers Fund (SCGF) had scooped four awards at the recent Fiji Human Resource Institute Awards 2024.

SCGF chief executive officer Raj Sharma said they were proud to win all silver awards in all categories in its first year of participation in the FHRI Awards.

“Sugar Cane Growers Fund highlights the importance of employees’ well-being, engagement and growth, it upholds business culture to all, by involving and fostering an environment of transparency, integrity, innovation and collaboration,” Mr Sharma said.

“HR strategies for the SCGF is to create a supportive and motivating workplace that has enhanced employee satisfaction, reduced the turnover, and to foster a positive culture.”

He said continuous evaluation and adaptation of those practices were the keys to maintaining an engaged and productive workforce with 35 enthusiastic team members who were eager to take up the challenge and create a brand for the institution.

“This is not putting up the stories but what we actually do for the people as part of the best HR practices.”

The awards were:

  1. Human Resources Emerging Leader – Prithi Ram (HR executive);
  2. HR Talent and Development;
  3. HR Innovation in Practice;
  4. HR Environment and Sustainability in Practice.
