MEMBERS of the tikina Saqani on Vanua Levu gathered at the Great Council of Chiefs Complex in Suva yesterday for the first day of their two-day meeting to discuss development priorities and opportunities for the tikina.

The meeting brought together yavusa delegates, Suva and Western-based members and other representatives to deliberate on the future direction of Saqani.

Discussions included a presentation by the iTaukei Land Trust Board on business opportunities for Saqani.

Members also discussed the selection of a tikina committee to liaise with the Suva committee, identifying key development projects for 2027–2030, including a yaqona project, and nominations for members of a proposed business trust fund.
