MISS Lautoka Sector Anaseini Sanoko was crowned the 2019 Fiji Airways Farmers Carnival Queen in Lautoka last night.
The University of Fiji student said she was honoured to win the crown.
“I want to thank everyone that supported me throughout the week and I hope I can be able to continue to talk about what I’ve been advocating which is equality,” she said.
Chief guest Speaker of Parliament Ratu Epeli Nailatikau said although there would only be one winner, each contestant had been a great advocate for their community.
“The beauty of nature, art, music and architecture enriches our lives, human beauty does the same,” he said. “We have to remember that it is more than just physical.”
He added the Farmers Carnival’s promotion of climate change over the past week has been an important aspect of the festival.
Other winners: Winners 2019 Miss Fiji Airways Farmers Carnival first runner-up – Miss Formscaff Fiji Ltd Manisha Kumar, second runner-up – Miss Roneel’s Amusement Nikhat Nisha, 2019 Fiji Airways Farmers Carnival Miss Charity: Miss Lovu Sector Ashma Ali, first runner-up: Miss Padarath Aluminium Shayal Shishtika and second runner-up Tie: Hasmet Amusement Vasiti Lauwai and Miss Roneel’s Amusement Nikhat Nisha.
