Digicel Fiji Beach Soccer coach Jerry Sam has named his 12-member squad for the Oceania Football Confederation Beach Soccer Nations Cup 2023 to be played in Tahiti later this month.

The team will march into camp at Fiji FA Academy in Suva on August 07 and will begin preparations before leaving the country on August 18.

“The team will be marching into camp next week Monday and we will jump straight into training,” he said.

Sams was present at the Digicel Fiji Football Association Beach Soccer competition that was held in Suva on Saturday where he was scouting players for the national team.

“It wasn’t easy choosing players because there were so many talented players to choose from.

“I was very impressed with a lot of them, and I am happy to name my final team that will be representing the country in the competition.”

With less than a month until the competition in Tahiti, Sams believes his side has what it takes to perform despite the short time for preparation.

“Just from looking at the way some of these players have been performing a various football competitions this year, they should be able to perform at the competition at Tahiti.

“We do not have much time, but we are hopeful, and we have faith in ourselves that we will be able to go out there and do our best.”

“The following players have been selected to represent Fiji at the OFC Beach Soccer Nations Cup. The championship will be held from August 22 – 26.
