Salesi Rayasi named in Flying Fijians extended squad

New Zealand born Fijian rugby player and French Top 14 winger Salesi Rayasi has been named in the FIJI Water Flying Fijians 44-member extended squad for its July Tests.

The winger, who plays for French club RC Vannes, has been named as a potential backline player in the extended squad released this evening.

If finally selected to represent Fiji in the two Tests against the Wallabies and Scotland next month, he will fulfill a long intended desire to don the white jumper.

With the release of the 44-member extended squad, the Fiji Rugby Union in a statement on social media mentioned how the selection process had been.

“This extended squad has been selected following thorough discussions and deliberations by the coaching and management team,” the FRU said on social media.

Meanwhile, Rayasi joins the likes of players such as Vuate Karawalevu, Caleb Muntz, Isikeli Rabitu and Vilimoni Botitu among others in the backline as well.

The 44-member extended squad:
