Former parliamentarian and Minister of State under the Laisenia Qarase Government, Losena Salabula has passed away.
While paying tribute to the late retired school teacher, SODELPA leader, Viliame Gavoka said Mrs Salabula was someone that he considered a political ally who was a remarkable individual that made a lasting impact.
“I’ll forever be grateful for her words of encouragement and support; that was always delivered with great softness,” Mr Gavoka said.
“If I could describe her way of doing things — she was a straight-shooter,” he said.
“Her passion and commitment to the Vanua, Matanitu and most importantly, the Church inspired many, including myself.
“I know that her absence will be deeply felt, but her legacy will continue to shine through the lives she has touched.
“She will be remembered for her passion, dedication, and the impact she made in the political field.
“My thoughts are with her immediate family, and I extend my heartfelt condolences to them and everyone during this challenging time.
“May her legacy continue to inspire others in the future with you as you navigate through this grief. May her memory bring you comfort and strength.”
Mrs Salabula will be laid to rest today.
