It has emerged the suspect arrested and remanded in a recent high profile criminal case of public interest had escaped from St Giles hospital.
Samuela Tawase is alleged to have escaped on July 19, five days after he was sent there for a psychiatric evaluation,
The Fiji Times sources confirm he was arrested the next day in Valelevu.
Mr Tawase was charged in relation to an act of sacrilege at the Shiv Mandir in Suva.
He is remanded in custody and is due to appear in court on July 28.
The Fiji Times is seeking comments from Police.
