HE Sacred Heart College sub-junior grades have boosted firepower and the mindset of competitiveness to other athletes during their school’s inter-house meet at the ANZ Stadium yesterday.

Blaise House sub-junior boys relay won the 4×100 metres event and team captain Andrew Magnus said with confidence that victory comes if there was unity.

“I thank my teammates for doing really well in their positions that made us win the event and our aim this year is to make sure Blaise wins the inter-house,” said Magnus.

“I believe that we can do well in the inter zone and the Coca-Cola Games and all we need to do is to train hard as a team and bond well and believing in each other that we can get it done.”

School principal Pravina Chand said that the Year 9 students had really lifted the standard of the competition.

“In our inter-house like this the attendance and enthusiasm of the Year 9 athletes is so high that it encourages the rest of the athletes and they are eager to take part in all the events and we’re hopeful to have more from the sub junior athletes participate in the zone and the Coca-Cola Games.”
