Lawyers acting for sacked Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption Commissioner Barbara Malimali have confirmed they are now pursuing an out of court settlement with Government.
Lawyer Tanya Waqanika told the media, Justice David Ashton-Lewis and damaged the reputation of her client through the Commission of inquiry report.
“Her career of 27 years has been damaged,” said Ms Waqanika.
When asked about the amount of money they were seeking and whether a figure of $2 million was put forward.
“That’s a good money,” said Ms Waqanika.
She added they were going to see what was being offered to her client.
