Iosefo Masi says his first Rugby World Cup match will be something he will remember for the rest of his life.
The Olympic Games gold medallist entered the field in the second half to replace captain Waisea Nayacalevu in the 62nd minute and made a number of breaks.
While the result was not in his favour, he was proud to have gotten some game time.
“I would like to thank the Lord for today. Even though we didn’t win today, I’m happy with the performance of the team in being able to qualify for the quarter-finals,” Masi said.
“We’ll go back and regroup, we’ll try and leave this loss behind us. We will start again on Monday and try to work on the basics to ensure we get the win.”
He thanked everyone in Fiji for supporting the team through well wishes and prayers.
The side will face England at Stade de Marseille next Monday at 3am.
