By the time you read this the Bati game against the Italian side would have ended. Friday night was the jersey presentation for the team and tears were shed when some of the players spoke of the difficulties they had faced in making the Bati team.
Some talked of how, like every other young boy, they also dreamt of putting on the white jumper.
Words of encouragement were given by the team talatala, the Reverend Ilaitia Tagituimua.
The special guest was former Fiji Bati forward Tabua Cakacaka who, played at the 2000 Rugby League World Cup in Gateshead, England.
Cakacaka encouraged the players to unite on the field and play as a team.
The squad had its captain’s run to test the combinations to ensure everyone was on the same page.
I took an early morning walk around the area and ended up losing my way.
But I followed where I came from and my found my directions.
This afternoon I took a second trip just to see the buildings and read about its history.
By 7pm I was already wanting to sleep but I promised myself to get the diary done first. OK, until time, ni sa moce mada.
