The FIJI Water Foundation donated rugby equipments to the Ra Primary Schools Rugby Association during the Ra Kaji Rugby Festival held yesterday at Ra Sports Ground.
The donation is part of the Foundation’s broader commitment to youth development in rural Fiji.
Hundreds of students, teachers, coaches, and parents from Tikina Nailuva, Nakorotubu, Saivou, and Rakiraki took part in the one-day event, which was filled with energy, competition, and community pride.
FIJI Water Foundation Director of Philanthropy, Semi Lotawa, said the Foundation is proud to stand behind grassroots initiatives that inspire and empower young people.
“When we invest in students, we invest in the future of our communities.
“This equipment will help young players train safely and confidently while learning important life values through sport,” Lotawa said.
He also acknowledged the work of teachers and coaches who play a vital role in shaping young lives.
“You are the unsung heroes helping our children grow stronger, not just as athletes, but as individuals.”
The Foundation also recognized 28 teachers who recently completed IRB Level 1 and 2 coaching certifications an achievement made possible in partnership with the Fiji Rugby Union and the Ministry of Education.
“We don’t just want to support the game we want to support the people who make it happen. These coaching certifications are part of that mission,” Lotawa added.
“Today isn’t just about who wins or loses. It’s about building discipline, respect, teamwork, and passion values that will guide these students far beyond the rugby field.”
The FIJI Water Foundation reaffirmed its commitment to supporting not only sports but also education through its Classroom Grant Program, which has helped improve learning environments in schools like Naseyani, Drauniivi, Rakiraki Methodist, and Naria.
