The Qionimaravu rugby team has continued their dominant run at the Naitasiri Rugby Union club games with a commanding 25-3 victory over Flametree Colo-i-Suva yesterday at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori.
Taking a commanding 15-0 lead at halftime, Qionimaravu set the tone early.
Despite a spirited second-half effort from Colo-i-Suva, the team maintained their composure, shutting down any hope of a comeback from their opponents.
Captain Josaia Navualiku credited their intense preparation during the week for the resounding win.
“We really worked hard on our mistakes from our last game and that has paid dividends in our victory today (yesterday),” he said.
Team Manager Joasaia Rakavono praised the squad’s resilience, especially given their challenging circumstances.
“We are one of the teams who are based up at the highlands,” he explained.
“Despite the cold, our long travels every week, the boys continue to perform consistently each week which shows their pride in representing the team and their village.”
Looking ahead, the team is focussing on sharpening discipline and their forwards’ game as they prepare for their next outing.
With such determination and unity, Qionimaravu looks poised to maintain their strong campaign in the competition.
