ACCLAIMED footballer Roy Krishna has done it all from grassroots to the professional level but he firmly believes in one thing; at Subrail Park in Labasa, anyone can be anyone.
With the 2026 BiC Fiji FACT starting tomorrow there, Krishna’s words affirm the tough competition awaiting all teams setting foot in the Babasiga Town.
Speaking to TimesSport, he pointed out that while the favourites and underdogs would evoke fierce competition, playing at the park added to the manic atmosphere.
“The favourites are there, we all know. But you know the underdogs are there and Subrail Park is a very small stadium and on any given day, anyone can be anyone,” the former Labasa player pointed out.
But what adds to the hype of the tourney this year are the signings most teams carried out when the season transfer windows were opened earlier this year.
“You can see every club has a foreign player in this competition; Fiji FACT. All the games will be exciting to watch.
“I just pray and hope the weather will be with us.”
Krishna began his career in the fields of Siberia outside Labasa where his rise was so prolific that he featured in the Fiji FACT, the Battle of the Giants and the Inter-District Championship before moving overseas.
And while Krishna heads to Labasa to watch the tournament unfold, it’s also a trip where he reunites with his mother and relatives.
“I’ll be there, go home and see my mom and meet my nani (maternal grandmother) and them so I hope that I can get to meet everyone,” he said.
And while he will be present there, the FIFA World Cup, currently underway in North America, is also on his mind.
“I support Spain and Germany. I just love the way they play, Spain, and I have some players I like to watch.”
And for this weekend in Labasa, he’s roaring away with the hometown warriors as he predicts a repeat of last year’s final between Labasa and Rewa.
