Round three tees off

QORINIASI Bale led the way in the points table of the Goodman Fielder International’s-sponsored (GFI) Summer Cup 2026 when its third round got underway in Suva yesterday.

Bale had led the table in round two with 15 points and a score of 43 while recording a score of 30 and one point in the first round.

Following behind him was Mohammed Ishak with 3 points recorded in round one and 13 points in round two.

In third place, Tom Managreve’s score for round one was eight points and a score of 39 while in round two, he attained a score of 37 and eight points.

Other familiar faces and seasoned golfers such as Fenton Lutunatabua, Lusiana Leqa, Gregory Browne, Jagat Ram, Barbara Naisara, Cecil Browne, Viliame Naupoto, Filimone Jitoko and others were also present for the third round.

While action unfolded in the Summer Cup yesterday, activity was also underway at the Fiji Golf Club on Friday as the GFI-sponsored Friday competition teed off.

There were 18 starters for the event. Russell Gibson finished first with 20 points, Eric Browne in second with 18 and Neil Hazelman in third with 17 points.

On Wednesday, the Stands Beer Run competition took place at the club with 23 starters participating.

Alex Konrote finished first with 23 points, Anil Prasad who made a comeback finished in second with 23 points while Sandeep Prasad came third with 21 points.
