Olympic Games bronze medallist Ana Maria Roqica is keen to represent the Fijiana XV at the Rugby World Cup which will be held in New Zealand from October 8 to November 12.

Roqica is part of the national 7s training squad preparing for the next leg of the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series in Langford, Canada from April 30 to May 1.

The 34-year-old featured strongly for the Seahawks in the Fun Flavour Super Sevens Series at Churchill Park in Lautoka.

Roqica said her first priority was with the Fijiana 7s commitments.

She said her goal was to make it to the Commonwealth Games in England and the Rugby World Cup Sevens in South Africa first.

“I have been part of the extended national XV training squad since 2019,” Roqica said.

“However, it will certainly be a dream come true if I’m selected to represent the Fijiana XV at the Rugby World Cup.”

The Commonwealth Games will be held in Birmingham, England from July 28 to August 8 and the Rugby World Cup Sevens will be held in Cape Town, South Africa from September 9-11.
