TAILEVU is ready and determined to face Naitasiri when they meet in the semi-finals of the Skipper Cup today, however it knows where its greatest strength lies.

These were the sentiments of Tailevu Rugby Union president Joseph Rodan as he emphasised how high the stakes were for the team.

“We are going out for a win tomorrow,” Rodan said.

He added the mission for the men in green was to head out onto the field and apply what they had practiced to counter Naitasiri.

“We are still playing the number one team, and we are not underestimating them.”

Rodan said they understood their opponent’s strengths and weaknesses and would play according to what they had practiced.

Part of understanding this was having an analysis of their strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats (SWOT) drawn up to assess Naitasiri.

“We’ve done that and what we’ll do, we’ll strategise according to their SWOT on what we’ve done on them and we will capitalise on our strengths, make sure that we weaken their strengths and their strengths is in the forwards and we will counter their forwards.”

“But our boys are ready, and they are very determined to play, to win. They are all focused, all geared up and all motivated and most of them know that winning the semi-final will be creating history for us.”

Tailevu and Naitasiri face off at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva at 3pm.
