The South Island United FC coach, Rob Sherman, is anticipating an exciting encounter against Extra Bula FC in their second match of the OFC Professional league today.

Sherman has decided to keep the starting 11 within the team for now, confirming that there are no injuries and everyone is available for selection.

The team is eager to continue their progress and take on Extra Bula FC with high spirits.

He mentioned despite a tight schedule and limited time for recovery, South Island United FC managed to squeeze in a training session yesterday, focusing on maintaining their intensity and preparedness for the upcoming match.

“With less time to recover, we managed to get some time to train yesterday, and it’s just the case of managing the intensity of the match,” said Sherman.

“We had a chance to watch the game when the Bula FC took on Vanuatu, we have analysed few things, so we are confident on that, and we are excited for both of our opponents ahead.”

Reflecting on their first match, which was a tough battle, Sherman acknowledges the positives that the team took from the game.

“Our first game was a tough one, but all in all, it’s our very first game together, and mostly positives are what we took out from the game, so things that we can maintain and things that we can improve on.

The prospect of facing the Fijian side has added to the excitement surrounding the match, with Sherman expressing his team’s commitment to giving their best performance on the field.

“Its really going to be an exciting match playing with the Fijian side, and we of course we will be giving our very best, I know must boys in the Fijian team expect the newcomers, so it really be and exciting day of football.”

The match between Extra Bula FC and South Island United FC is set to kick off at 2pm today at North Harbour Stadium in New Zealand.
