RATU Kadavulevu School is aiming for a top three finish in the boy’s division at this year’s Fiji Finals.
Team manager Alivereti Korovulavula entailed the school’s realistic targets for the highly anticipated annual event.
“We are trying to be in top three for the boys’ division. We are not really going for the first position; we are just aiming for a top three finish.”
After dominating the Tailevu Zone for so long, RKS was finally dethroned this year by fellow rival Queen Victoria School.
Following that, the school took time to figure out ways to further strengthen their efforts.
“So far, we have been trying to look back at some of the weaknesses that we did during the zone. I believe the results was not as expected but we took time to look back and we have managed to identify some loopholes which are working on now in trying to achieve the targets set for this annual event.
“Very minor issues just regarding our processes. We lacked to do some things especially in recovery of our athletes and we are working around that,” he added.
The school had its athletics team at the HFC Stadium in Suva last week.
“We came to get the boys acclimatise and het used to the tracks and our sprinters are working on their techniques.”
Last year, RKS finished at fifth place in the boys’ category.
