Ratu Kadavulevu School students took time out from their athletics inter-house competition to remember their fallen athletics coach Moave Vu who was laid to rest yesterday.

Vu, who has been a backbone of the school’s athletics achievements, was buried at the Naikaciwa Cemetery in Nasinu.

RKS assistant principal Masi Saqanivere said when Vu took over the athletics team, he brought back the competitive spirit within the athletics arena.

“He always believed in breeding our own,” Saqanivere said.

“When he joined in the first year, we came in third, during his second term with us we came first and defended the title from 2018, 2019 until COVID-19 hit in 2020 and 2021.

“We will continue his legacy and together with the teachers and parents, we will work on developing and breeding our own athletes.”

Saqanivere said their first aim was to take as many participants to the zone and the Coca-Cola Games.
