A fierce southern zone contest for who will book their spot to the national quarter-finals of the Vodafone Deans competition unfolds today in Laucala Bay, Suva.
The Buckhurst and Bidesi grounds are where the action will happen for the finalists of the Southern Zone Secondary Schools Rugby Union’s Deans competition.
It’s the culmination of a zonal competition that began last month at Thomson Park in Navua and saw nearly 30 secondary schools and 78 teams go head-to-head for a chance to break through into the national contest next month.
The competition travelled from Navua to the Suva Grammar School (SGS) grounds last week where the home team booked its ticket to the finals in every grade from the under-14 to under-18.
In the under-18 grade, Marist Brothers High School will meet Grammar in what will be their first appearance in the finale since 2022, breaking a two-year drought.
Tickets for today’s finals are sold on Ticketmate at $10, while tickets bought at the gate will cost $15.
