Family members, including Richard Mock’s mother, Seraphine Mock, were present in court as seven police officers charged in connection with his death appeared before the Lautoka High Court this morning.
Six of the accused—Shonal Shanesh Kumar, retired officer Abdul Saiban, Owen Brian Smith, Isikeli Nagilolevu, Ratu Peni Masara Ranamu, and Ratu Filimoni Yawayawa—appeared before Justice Sekonaia Vodokisolomone in High Court Room 1.
Meanwhile, the seventh accused, Fenton Thaggard, who was charged last week, was produced before Justice Sunil Sharma in High Court Room 2.
All seven accused have been further remanded in custody and are expected to reappear this Friday for the State’s response to their bail applications.
