The vessel, RFNS Puamau, was welcomed into Fiji waters by the Fijian Navy this morning.

A total of 21 officers departed Fiji on January 2 on board RFNS Kikau, Pacific-class patrol boat and twenty three returned including an Australian liaison officer and an additional officer.

“We arrived in Australia and headed back to the common wealth of Australia that was on January 8,” said Lieutenant commander Sairusi Colati.

“From there we then flew across to Western Australia in Perth and that’s where we received RFNS Puamau.

“It can take onboard 23 member crew including medical officials and is the sister ship of RFNS Savenaca.

“This is the 19th boat under the Pacific Maritime Security Program (PMSP) of the guardian patrol program.
