Commander of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF), Major General Ro Jone Kalouniwai, has commenced his Middle East tour with an official visit to the United Nations Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF) mission area.
Major General Kalouniwai was accorded a ceremonial Guard of Honour and held discussions with UNDOF Force Commander, Major General Anita Asmah, who praised the Fiji Battalion’s dedication and professionalism over the past two months.
Led by Lieutenant Colonel Isireli Dugu, the Fiji Battalion continues to demonstrate high standards of discipline and commitment in upholding the UNDOF mandate.
A statement from RFMF said in his address, Major General Kalouniwai commended the troops’ service, highlighting their crucial role in supporting peace and the reputation of the RFMF on the international stage.
This visit reinforces Fiji’s unwavering support for global peacekeeping efforts, marking the twelfth year of its participation in the UNDOF mission.
