Delta defendants Rewa FC are venturing ambitiously into the 2024 Flour Mills of Fiji (FMF) Inter-District Championship, which kicks off today.

Rodicks Singh, the team coach who has anchored the team from previous wins, with the most recent being the Digicel Premier League (DPL), says his side will need to field their best performance in order to move further.

“The team preparation has been going well, the boys have had a few training sessions together but specifically, we didn’t have a team run as a unit,” he said.

Singh reasoned the team did not do so since they had been together for the entire year and added there was no excuse for that.

He then acknowledged the force of strength they were up against in their pool as well.

“I think Ba is such a football giant, we have Nadi who have currently been on good form and Nadroga who can be a surprise in the tournament.”

“These are teams of top quality and to make it through the pool, we need to be ready,” he added.

He stated the side understood the importance of venturing into the IDC, which sees them face off with Ba, Nadi and Nadroga in Group B of the Super Premier Division.

“The players are really excited after winning the league (DPL) and they shifted their focus with the belief that they can get this one as well.”

Meanwhile, Rewa and Nadroga open the IDC in the first pool match at 1.30pm.
