EVERY halftime team talk influences the course of a game in the second half only if the players manage to execute the game plan.
This was true for Lincoln Rewa according to captain Setareki Hughes who said their halftime talk was grasped well by the players.
“The opportunities we created in the first half, we did not use it well, but the team talk at halftime allowed us to score our second goal. Our talk at halftime was made very clear by our coach and assistant coach
“Our game plan was executed very well, we did whatever our coach wanted, and we scored our two goals,” he said.
Rewa was able to beat Navua for the first time this football season thanks to goals by John Orobulu and Epeli Valevou.
With a win and three points in the bag, the Delta Tigers will be out to maintain a consistent form.
“We have a very important game tomorrow (today) against Nadi, so we’ll return to the drawing board and try to follow whatever game plan the coach has prepared for us,” he added.
Rewa will face Nadi today in their second group match at 1pm while Navua will meet Suva at 11am at Subrail Park in Labasa.
