DOUBLE celebrations are in store for Nausori tomorrow as its streets will become a sea of red when the home team Rewa football will have its celebrations for wins of the Extra Premier League and the FMF Inter-District Championship.

The celebrations begin at 10am with a gathering of crowds at Mistry Lane.

At 11am, the procession begins its march through Nausori Town, complete with fanfare and cheering supporters, on its way to Ratu Cakobau Park.

The march is expected to last for over an hour and by midday, the formal presentation of prizes and awards relating to the wins will commence.

Celebrations of this magnitude for the Delta Tigers and its die-hard fan base of loyal supporters has been a long time coming, particularly in their win of the IDC.

Rewa last won the coveted trophy 15 years ago, when they beat Lautoka 3-1 at the then TFL National Stadium in Suva.

In the present, it broke the jinx at the 4R Electrical, Govind Park in Ba earlier this month when it triumphed over the home side 1-0 with a goal from Patrick Joseph in the 75th minute of play.

The win for Rewa was a moment of glorious celebration and for Ba, the chill stroke of finality after an optimistic run in the lead-up to and during an IDC that unified a solid Ba fanbase.

As the trophy left the West after the tournament ended, it reached Nausori and made victory laps around the various communities, including primary and secondary schools.
