OUT of 394 restaurants in Fiji that are on TripAdvisor, Warwick Fiji’s Wicked Walu restaurant is number one with its Japanese restaurant Sazanami coming in at number six.
This was revealed by Warwick Fiji general manager Brad Downton who said their wish was for both their restaurants to be on top of the list.
Mr Downton said the Wicked Walu presented guests with a unique dining experience — locally carved artwork on the ceilings and in the evenings the blacktipped reef sharks come out, giving guests the chance to dine and marvel at the reef environment.
He said they had guests who stayed at other resorts and just came to dine at the Wicked Walu and guests came from as far as Denarau.
According to Mr Downton as of Friday last week their Sazanami Restaurant stood at number six on the TripAdvisor.
He said they had managed to reach the top of the list through the fantastic guest-staff engagement, good food and fine selection of wine that led to great customer satisfaction.
Meanwhile the resort welcomed their visiting executive chef from the Middle East to showcase Arabic cuisine and to train the resort’s chefs and kitchen staff members on Lebanase dishes.
Mr Downton said executive chef Ahmad Kansou’s signature Middle Eastern dishes, including whole goat marinated in spices and served on a bed of fragrant Oriental rice garnished with pistachios, cashews and almonds, would be featured in an exotic Arabic themed buffet every Saturday night at the Bula Brasserie restaurant during his visit.
“We are delighted to have a chef of Ahmad’s calibre in our kitchens, imparting new cooking techniques and culinary expertise to our highly talented kitchen brigade.
Introducing another dining experience for our guests will only further enhance our food offering at Warwick Fiji and complement Wicked Walu, TripAdvisor’s number one rated restaurant in Fiji,” said Mr Downton.
Originally from Lebanon chef Ahmad’s international career has spanned several countries including Lebanon, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Dubai where he was executive chef at J W Marriott.
Chef Ahmad’s Arabic Buffet will be available at Warwick Fiji every Saturday evening in Bula Brasserie until 30 September 2017.
