Residents living along Nasinu Rd have been without water for the past three days.
Jyoti Nandan, a resident, said the water issue in their area was a serious problem.
“We use water every day and to have disruptions like these is a big problem,” she said.
When a team from this newspaper visited her place yesterday, Ms Nandan was filling water in buckets and bottles from a water truck provided by the Water Authority of Fiji (WAF).
“Water disruptions began on Thursday but we have managed in the past few days.”
Ms Nandan said they had to resort to their water tank after the water disruptions.
However, she said, the water tank was already drying up.
“When I saw the water truck from my house, I had to run to the road with my buckets.
“I have water left in the tank but I don’t want to take the risk and I have opted to continue storing water.”
Ms Nandan said the heavy downpour in the past few days had been very helpful to them.
“The authority has also been very helpful in carting water but then if this continues then we will need to store more.”
In a statement the WAF said they had completed repairs to the Wainibuku valve and water service in Nakasi and Davuilevu was expected to be restored soon.
