THE tribunal report containing the findings of three serious allegations investigated against suspended Fiji Corrections Service Commissioner Dr Jalesi Nakarawa is expected to be issued by the President, Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu.

When contacted, Constitutional Offices Commission ( COC) chairperson and Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka referred queries to the COC Secretariat, Solicitor-General Ropate Green.

Questions seeking confirmation on whether the COC has received the report were not answered, with the Acting Attorney-General Siromi Turaga stating only that, “The report will be issued by His Excellency the President, who commissioned the Tribunal.”

The tribunal, chaired by Justice Daniel Goundar with members Justices Dane Tuiqereqere and Savenaca Banuve, was appointed in July last year following a recommendation by the COC to the President.

Dr Nakarawa is alleged to have engaged in conduct amounting to misbehaviour by participating in decisions or actions in which he had a clear personal or financial interest, allegedly constituting an abuse of the authority of his office. The allegations relate to personal interest, financial mismanagement, and abuse of authority.

The tribunal concluded its proceedings in November 2025.
