Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka has called on all Fijians to remain calm and await the advisory opinion of the Supreme Court hearing on the Constitution.

He said calls for civil disobedience or military intervention are unacceptable and risk undermining peace and democracy.

“The Supreme Court is entrusted with interpreting our laws. Its opinion must be respected,” he said.

“While freedom of speech is protected, it must be exercised responsibly and within the law.”

He assured the people of Fiji that the Government is fully committed to upholding the rule of law and safeguarding national stability.
