THE Fiji Times ran an article on Monday, April 6, 2015 titled Christians still locked in tombs, in which the Reverend James Bhagwan stated that “Despite the high number of people professing Christianity on the census, we can see how many of them are still on the streets trying to get a taxi home after returning from nightclubs”.
Is the religious organisation that Reverend James Bhagwan represents suggesting that it is not acceptable for someone who claims to be a Christian to visit a nightclub or God forbid, be waiting for a taxi afterwards?
Surely it’s what the individual does in the nightclub or afterwards, and if it affects others adversely that determines if it is acceptable or not totally regardless of religion.
Going to a nightclub does not automatically mean you are not a good person, let’s not stereotype all because of the actions of a few.
