THE Red Cross Ball will be held on November 1 after a lapse of eight years.

And with a new venue and revised program, Fiji Red Cross Society’s director general Ragigia Dawai says the event will be a collaborative effort between FRCS, Crowne Plaza Fiji Nadi Bay Resort and Spa by IHG,Rosie Holidays and Events Encore.

A partnership agreement was signed by the four stakeholders yesterday.

Ms Dawai said the event marked a significant milestone.

She confirmed there would be no fashion show at this year’s ball.

“The Red Cross Ball has never been just about an elegant social gathering,” she said.

“It was and will continue to be a powerful demonstration of our community’s commitment to keeping humanity alive in times of its greatest need.”

Ms Dawai said when the ball was last held eight years ago, the funds raised made a tangible difference in countless lives across Fiji.

“Today, we face new challenges and opportunities. The need for such community support has never been greater. This year’s aim is to keep humanity alive. It captures the very essence of what we do every day at the Fiji Red Cross Society.”

Ms Dawai said this partnership reflected the private sector’s recognition that building resilience in Fiji requires all stakeholders to work together.

“The Red Cross Ball will be held on Saturday, 1st November 2025, right here at Crowne Plaza, starting at 6pm.

“This is a formal black-tie event with a colour theme of red in resilience. Tickets will be sold at $350 local currency each, and once we go live, we will let the public know.”

Ms Dawai said funds raised would support disaster preparedness and health initiatives that strengthen communities, and build capacities that ensure they would serve Fijians for generations to come.

Crowne Plaza Fiji Nadi Bay Resort and Spa by IHG’s general manager Sudhir Yadav said this event would be extremely successful and would raise a lot of funds for a worthy cause.
