Recruits get first hands-on experience

POLICE recruits gained their first hands-on experience of working within a community when they were deployed to the Ra Province last week.

The batch of 64 visited the tikina of Nalawa as part of their community engagement program and were sent to seven villages – Matawailevu, Burenitu, Nausori, Navitilevu, Dama, Tobu and Rokovuaka. The aim of the deployment was to assist the recruits gain a better understanding of how to conduct community policing programs.

“The Fiji Police Force has acknowledged the Turaga na Tui Nalawa Ratu Epeli Niudamu for his support towards community policing initiatives and the vanua of Nalawa for hosting the recruits as they look forward to starting their journey as a police officer,” the Fiji Police Force said in a social media post.

The recruits passing out will be on October 28, at the Nasova Grounds in Suva.
