TIGHT head prop Inoke Ravuiwasa says preparations have been positive ahead of the Skipper Select clash against the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua on February 6 at Churchill Park.

Ravuiwasa, who has been named to feature for Skipper Select, said the team had a good start to their build-up when they assembled earlier this week.

“Preparation has been good. Our first day was on Tuesday and going into this week everything has gone well,” Ravuiwasa said.

He added that team bonding came naturally, with many players already familiar with each other through provincial competitions.

“We know each other from playing against each other in the provincial competition, and when we met on the first day we bonded well,” he said.

Ravuiwasa said discussions within the squad have shown that players are ready for the challenge against the Drua.

“We’ve talked among ourselves and the players are ready to play.”

The experienced front-rower described the match as an important opportunity as preparations continue for the 2026 season.

“This is good preparation for the 2026 season because it helps us identify our strengths and our weaknesses,” Ravuiwasa said.

He also highlighted the value of past development systems, noting that several players in the squad have come through pathways such as the U20 and Warriors programmes, which has helped lift the standard within the team.

The Skipper Select versus Swire Shipping Fijian Drua match will be played on February 6 at Churchill Park.
