The Ratu Navula U18 rugby side has imposed a media blackout as it gears up for its highly anticipated 2024 Vodafone Super Deans semi-final clash against Queen Victoria School tomorrow at the HFC Bank Stadium, Suva at 5pm.
When this newspaper visited the school yesterday and hoping to gain insights into the side’s preparations, school principal Jeremaia Lewaravu revealed that the board has decided to keep a low profile during this crucial time.
“Our school board are advising us not to talk to the media.
“We are doing our normal preparations, and we will meet on Saturday,” Lewaravu said.
The decision to maintain media silence reflects the intense focus within the Ratu Navula camp.
The team is determined to reclaim the glory they last tasted in 2013, when they lifted the Deans Trophy for the first time, led by standout players like former Fiji 7s forward Vasikali Mudu.
The school’s rugby legacy and the pressure to deliver have only intensified as they approach this pivotal match.
