Former president and Na Turaga Taukei Naisogalaca, Ratu Epeli Nailatikau, has passed away peacefully, Roko Tui Bau, Ratu Timoci Tavanavanua, confirmed yesterday.
Ratu Timoci said Ratu Epeli had been admitted to hospital earlier in the evening and died peacefully later on Thursday night.
“The news of his passing has been formally delivered to the vanua,” Ratu Timoci said.
Funeral arrangements are yet to be confirmed.
Ratu Epeli Nailatikau was widely respected for his leadership and dedication to the people of Fiji.
