The Bronze medal win by the Fijiana at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics was due to a lot of development done behind the scenes locally.
Statistics released by the Fiji Rugby Union shows that in the past three years, the number of registered women rugby players has increased from 175 in 2018 to 1039 in 2020.
In 2018, there were seven women unions in the country which increased to 24 last year.
With the Bronze medal win, these numbers are expected to increase in the next few years.
