RAPE cases dominated proceedings once again in the High Court in Suva yesterday.
Justice Prabaharan Kumararatnam dealt with six rape matters yesterday including one where the complainant was yet to be located.
Rupeni Baleitamavua is charged with a count of rape, an allegation which he has denied.
The State prosecution told the court yesterday all witnesses except for the complainant had been located.
The prosecution asked for a day more to check if the summon had been served on the complainant, the court granted a day more for the case to be called today.
Defence counsel’s application for the accused’s presence to be excused today was also granted.
The trial starts tomorrow.
In another matter, the state prosecution told the court the information in the charge will be amended.
The trial for this case starts on May 12.
