Pacific Operations managing director Paulo Ralulu agrees the National Development Plan 2025–2029 will provide an enabling environment for Fiji’s private sector to grow.

Describing the plan as “a huge improvement”, Mr Ralulu told a panel discussion at the USP’s Laucala Campus on Tuesday that one of the key factors in implementing the NDP was the implementation itself, which would require a huge cost.

“What is the cost of the plan? Because we do have the expertise to carry out the plan,” Mr Ralulu said.

“Having a brief look at the NDP, a lot that has been touched on has been heavily researched.”

Mr Ralulu said a challenge was the number of people leaving the country for a variety of reasons.

“So, it leaves a gap which is something we need to look into as well.

“But the plan overall is a real improvement, and the biggest key factor in its implementation is costs.”
