BULA FC’s new strength and conditioning coach has set clear goals to elevate the status of football in the country.
Joshua Raj acknowledges that achieving these ambitions will be challenging, but he is eager to embrace the task.
“I know it’s going to be a bit of a challenge; football in Fiji is still developing. I believe the sooner we start, the better. It’s not just a small initiative – it’s about laying a foundation for the long term,” he said.
The former national strength and conditioning coach for India’s senior and age-grade teams expressed his honour at being considered for the role.
“I received a call a few weeks ago, and this was something I didn’t expect to happen. I had heard a lot about the team, but getting the chance to work with them is something else,” he explained.
“Coming here, I know it’s great to be in a place like this. Who wouldn’t want to be here? But while we are here, we are putting in the effort, so I believe the sooner we start, the better it will be for everyone.”
With talent at his disposal, Raj is enthusiastic about helping the team achieve its goals and objectives for the upcoming OFC Pro League.
He is working closely with the players, staff, and management to ensure that the players are in peak physical condition when the season begins.
