Queen Victoria School rugby league team is ready to defend their title at 2023 Vodafone Fiji Secondary school Rugby league Season tomorrow.
The QVS Knights under-19 captain Sireli Rokoveilavo said the had been working hard in the past months.
The gentleman from Vulinituraga will defend the under 15, 17 and 19 grades. Sireli said the onus was on the players to once again defended their titles.
“We are going into this competition as underdogs,” he said.
“Training has been intense for the past weeks but due to the frequent rainy weather, we had to slack down with training but that doesn’t stop us from working hard towards our goal.
“Needless to say we came in as underdogs last year, no one ever thought we will win the competition last year but we prove our critics wrong.
“This year its going to be a tough year and I have faith on my team that we can do it again.”
QVS is among the other schools like Ratu Kadavulevu School, Lelean Memorial School, Nabua Secondary school, Naitasiri secondary school and Namosi Secondary school that will be participating in the Southern zone at St Marcellin Primary School ground this weekend.
RSMS and LDS return after two years in the under-17 grade and Vashist Muni College from Navua is the new school participating in the under-17 grade.
