QVS captain proud of win

Queen Victoria School’s under-18 captain Anare Tabakaucoro expressed immense pride in his team’s victory in the Super Deans Trophy final against Nasinu Secondary School.

He attributed their success to their hard work, unity, and determination throughout the season.

The defending champions reclaimed their title with a resounding 27-13 victory in the final, held at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva on Saturday.

Tabakaucoro confidently stated that the game was not a difficult one for them, as they had faith in God and simply focused on doing their job and securing the win.

He credited the team’s performance to their coach’s advice before the game.

“It wasn’t a hard game for us because we have faith in the almighty God, we just came here do our job and get the win,” said Tabakaucoro.

“Message from the coach coming into this final is to not put on pressure to us, and just go out there and enjoy the game.”

Despite facing challenges in their daily lives, the players managed to come together as a team.

“Really proud of the boy’s performance the teamwork, even though we face challenges in our day-to-day life we manage to work as a team and play for each other and play for our family.”

As he enters his final year at the school, Tabakaucoro is now shifting his focus to preparing for his exams and aiming to excel in them.

He expressed gratitude to the teachers, parents, fans, and supporters of QVS for their unwavering support.
