Road repairs
While expensive road maintenance (FT 10/9) continues, road users complain of never-ending potholes causing heavy maintenance to vehicles. But it’s a blessing for auto spare part outlets and garages on the expenses of vehicle owners.

Fiji made

While the sensational water is doing its wonder across the Northland zones, I guess Raj and Tuks might think of not recruiting overseas physicians again. It’s right with our local Fiji made brand.

Thank you

A lot of vendors are selling cassava from Taveuni at the Lautoka market. First it was Taveuni grog, then cassava and I wonder what will be next? Thank you Taveuni farmers, at least I can taste the cassava from your farm. That’s the way to go. Export!

Only in Fiji

Now we hear on the news that someone stole the gold medal from one of the Fiji 7s rugby players who played in Rio. We have some weird people here who stole manhole covers from the roads in the past to sell as scrap metal so why not this time a gold medal – much smaller in diameter and weight, so easier to steal and more valuable than a scrap metal manhole cover? “Only in Fiji” like Ben Ryan said.

Tourism growth

Congratulations to Chinese investors for showing genuine confidence in Fiji’s tourism growth through their marvellous project at Korolevu Bay. I wish Malaysians would also consider re-initiating their billion dollar city project at Sawani. I would urge TLTB to grab this golden opportunity and promote tourism development along the Sun coast, Lautoka to Rakiraki as this sandy corridor is another zone ready to welcome more billion dollar tourism expansion.
