Children as young as 11-years-old are shooting crystal methamphetamine, according to Drug-Free World Fiji founder Kalesi Volatabu.
She said peddlers were targeting children to sell their products.
“Children are targeted by drug peddlers as they are easy to persuade,” Ms Volatabu said.
“These (peddlers) know what words to say to get their product sold.”
She revealed a study they conducted in 2019 discovered this.
“This is the sad reality in Fiji.
“Most children were using drugs due to bad influence within their communities and at home.
“At home, they are seeing their own parents or guardians using these drugs.”
She said more stringent laws on drugs were needed to deal with the problem.
