FIJI Corrections Service officers have been reminded to further their studies and not to limit their education to achievements in secondary school.
Acting Commissioner of Fiji Corrections Service Kameli Ratulevulevu, while addressing officers present during their Excellence Service Awards night last Friday, said most officers were requesting car loans and not education loans from FCS’s welfare department.
Mr Ratulevulevu said education was equally important in the job they carried out daily because of their interaction “with human beings and not prisoners or outcasts”.
He thanked the officers for the work throughout the year.
“I take this time to thank you for all your hard work put in this year,” Mr Ratulevulevu said.
“This is not an easy profession because we are dealing with those that have committed something wrong and needs to be rehabilitated. That is our job, to rehabilitate.”
