Driven by hardship and united by hope, the Fiji under-18 rugby league squad is preparing for more than just a game.
Many of these young men come from broken homes and tough village life, raised by grandparents or without fathers.
Some are school dropouts; others have never played rugby league until recently.
But under the guidance of head coach Wise Kativerata, they’ve found purpose and belief.
With raw talent, discipline and determination, they’ve embraced the chance to prove themselves.
They will face Tonga for the first time in Fiji on Saturday at Churchill Patk in Lautoka.
